Turkish Airlines Orders 15 More Airbus A330-300's


Turkish Airlines has placed an order for 15 A330-300s, the carrier’s seventh order for the A330 family and its 20th Airbus order overall. The 15 new Airbus A330-300 widebodies will be operated on medium- and long-haul routes from Turkish Airlines’ hub at Istanbul Atatürk International Airport.

Turkish Airlines placed its first order with Airbus in 1984, and now operates 101 Airbus aircraft, including 17 A330-family widebodies. The carrier operates three A330 versions: the A330-200 passenger jet; the A330-200 Freighter; and the A330-300 passenger widebody.

  Embraer Delivers the 900th E-Jet, to Kenya Airways

Embraer has delivered its 900th E-Jet, an Embraer 190 for Kenya Airways, in a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in São Jose dos Campos, Brazil. Today, Embraer E-Jets are in service with more than 60 airlines from 40 countries. Different E-Jet customers use any one of four different types of business models – mainline, low-cost carriers, regional airlines and, most recently, a scheduled tour operator. The 13th Embraer E-Jet delivered to Kenya Airways was the 900th E-Jet delivered overall by Embraer. The manufacturer handed over the Embraer 190 to the airline on October 10, 2012.

Alaska Airlines Orders 37 Boeing 737 MAX and 13 737-900ER's

Аlaska Airlines has placed a firm order for 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, 17 737 MAX 9s and 13 Boeing 737-900ERs. Boeing values the aircraft order at more than $5 billion at current list prices and says it is the largest in Alaska Airlines’ history. Alaska Airlines’ existing and new orders for the Boeing 737-900ER will be delivered starting in late October 2012 and will continue through 2017.  The first 737 MAX 8 is scheduled to enter Alaska’s fleet in 2018 followed by the first 737 MAX 9 in 2019. Alaska is the third U.S. airline to order the 737 MAX, after Southwest Airlines and United Airlines. American Airlines has also committed to ordering 737 MAX jets but has not finalized an order yet.

Garuda Indonesia Receives Its First Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen

Bombardier Aerospace has delivered the first of six CRJ1000 NextGen regional jets ordered by PT Garuda Indonesia , the aircraft’s launch customer in the Asia-Pacific region. The Indonesian flag carrier also intends to operate 12 additional Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen regional jets through a lease agreement with Nordic Aviation Capital and holds options on 18 more aircraft of the same type.
