SIA to order 20 more A350-900s and five more A380s, return A340-500s
Singapore Airlines is ordering five more Airbus A380s and another 20 Airbus A350 XWBs for additional capacity growth and fleet renewal. The firm orders are valued at $7.5 billion based on Airbus’ published list prices. Deliveries are due to begin in 2017.
As part of the deal, Airbus has agreed to acquire SIA’s five Airbus A340-500 widebodies, which will be removed from service in the fourth quarter of the 2013 calendar year, in line with the airline’s policy to maintain a young fleet.
First Yakutia Superjet breaks cover.
Siberian carrier Yakutia's first Sukhoi Superjet 100 has emerged in its full colour scheme, three years after the operator signed for a pair of the twinjets. Yakutia would become the second Russian customer to take delivery of the aircraft after Aeroflot.
Earlier this year Sukhoi conducted tests at Tiksi to ensure that the Superjet's avionics and navigation systems would function correctly at high latitudes.
Yakutia agreed to take the aircraft under a deal linked to Russian lessor Finance Leasing Company, and originally planned to take delivery in 2011.
Turkish Airlines to buy up to 20 Boeing B777-300ERs by 2017.
Turkish Airlines has decided to buy 15 Boeing B777-300ERs by 2017 with an option to buy five more, it said in a statement on Monday. The flag-carrier said it decided to place orders for 3 planes in 2014, 7 in 2015, 5 in 2016 and another 5 in 2017 from Boeing .
